    About the position

    • The candidate is expected to uphold high standards of integrity and Christian conduct consistent with organizational values.

    • This person is a team player, able to work with others as well as work independently under minimal supervision in organizing and mobilizing the targeted community in the development services.

    Responsibilities

    • Assist in the initiation and implementation of community-based projects for youth in poor communities in partnership with local churches to address wholistic needs in the following areas:

      a) Social Empowerment

      b) Spiritual Empowerment

      c) Economic Empowerment

      d) Child Empowerment

    • Assist in organizing and/or conducting awareness/training programs on development issues among churches, and other relevant agencies.

    • Liaise and network with grassroots-level field workers, external resource persons in the community, churches, GO, and NGOs for successful implementation of service activities.

    Desired Skills/Experience/Attributes

    • Passion for the poor and needy - ability to work with youth from diverse backgrounds. Enthusiastic and positive attitude toward helping others.

    • Aged between 18 - 30 years.

    • Basic IT literacy (eg. MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Email, etc)

    • Knowledge of principles and practices related to community development will be an added advantage.

    • Willing to travel and able to travel independently.

    • Able to work independently under minimal supervision.

    • Flexible and versatile; possessing the ability to wear different “hats” on short notice.

    Education Requirement

    Minimum SPM and above
